Scooping engineering as Career

AIEEE and IIT entrance are the fundamentals one needs to focus on when you opt for engineering as your career. But cracking either of the two above mentioned entrance is not everyone’s cup of tea for the reason that success is not defined just by talent and physical ability and that is why only a few thousands crack these entrances while lakhs appear for it. Applicants are many but seats are limited.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary and Higher Education Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI).The aspirants seeking admission in one of the top IITs, NITs or state level engineering colleges or institutes appear in this test. Students securing good rankings in this test get into the most prestigious institutions of the country that include NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy, Visyesvaraya National Institute of Technology-Nagpur etc. The Entrance test is of 3hrs and the pattern of the exam is objective type. The objective questions are being asked from Class XI and XII Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There is negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

Initial step for preparing for entrance is to plan out the preparation strategy with a positive mindset. It is rightly said, “He who fails to plan, plans to fail”. While planning the preparation strategy one should keep in mind the syllabus, examination pattern and time needed to complete the syllabus as time is a vital factor. Moreover one needs to understand his or her strength and weakness for any test preparation. Students should give priority to chapters which they find tough and revise the important ones selectively. Note-making here is of vital importance as it saves time. Mock-tests, school exams are important milestones.

Studying for 11 to 12 hours while preparing for entrance won’t help if it is not systematic. There are number of coaching institutes like Career Point, for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, Bansal Classes, for IIT-JEE, Resonance, for IIT-JEE, AIEEE opened to guide students in this prospect. Some important aspects to be kept in mind while preparing for the test-

1. Practice makes a man perfect. Sample papers from last 1o years must be practiced on regular basis.
2. Jack of all master of none. Time should be divided among all the subjects in such a way that there is no hurry in completing courses of all the subjects thoroughly.
3. One should be thorough with the NCERT Books.
4. Concentration should be paid on concepts and logic. Formulas should be memorized after understanding the concept.
5. Time factor should be paid special importance as time management plays a vital role here. Speed with accuracy is important.

Engineering in India

AIEEE, the biggest entrance exam of the country will be conducted online in 22 cities of the country. Students fear that online entrance would reduce their chances of fairing well. However regardless of everything else students should keep a positive mindset, familiarize themselves with the examination format, overcome their fear and develop the same speed and versatility as in case of pencil paper entrance.
